Nick Schneider
Bass

Nick Schneider is rated as one of the top bass players in jazz today.

  • He has performed with such greats as Randy Brecker, Eddie Higgins, The Buddy Rich Big Band, Teddy Wilson and The Tonight Show Band just to name a few.
  • Currently Nick has openings for beginners through advanced students at his private teaching studio in Hoffman Estates
  • Nick is a faculty member of the Shell Lake Arts Center and is a consultant for their summer jazz camp program
  • He is available for clinics and guest performances

His Philosophy: I teach beginners to advanced students the art of time keeping, sight reading, improvisation and performing with small groups and large ensembles. Focus is on all styles but a heavy emphasis on learning jazz standards. Once you have a firm grasp of time keeping, playing with a drummer and the standards you can transfer that knowledge to any musical style.
