Kara Kesselring
Piano/Voice

Kara Kesselring Vocalist, pianist and arranger, Kara Kesselring has been very active as a freelance musician and educator for the last ten years in Chicago.

• BA in Classical Voice Performance, University of Iowa
• She has been on faculty at the Old Town School since 1999 teaching private piano and voice.
• Piano students age 6 and up, and voice students age 16 and up are welcome. Kara teaches the group Vocal Jazz Ensemble class, at the Old Town School of Folk Music, which brings together jazz vocalists and instrumentalists. This eight week class works on improvisation, phrasing, transposing and learning jazz standards.
• Kara also has availability in her home studio in Berwyn, IL.

Her Philosophy:

Teaching styles include beginners, pop, jazz, chords, classical repertoire and theory. I also teaches vocal technique, sight-reading and ear training and I am available for accompaniment for vocalists.
