Michael Marotta
Drumset/Percussion
Michael Marotta has been playing drum set for 30 years and latin percussion
for 17 years.
- In 1997 he received a BA in music education and in 2000 he received
a Masters degree in jazz performance from Roosevelt University.
- He has studied privately with Paul Wertico, Les Demerle and various
latin percussionists around the Chicago area.
- He has been teaching since 1999 at the Arlington School of Music.
" Ages of the students are from six to sixty and the ability levels
range from beginners to advanced.
His Philosophy:
My philosophy about teaching is I will teach the student any style
and technique that he or she wants to learn from classical percussion
to rock and roll to jazz to Latin percussion and will help your son
or daughter to understand how to read and write music. I can prepare
the student for auditions ranging from entrance into a grade school
band to auditioning for a college level curriculum. I teach hourly lessons
and would be very happy to instruct your son or daughter in playing
drums/percussion and in the art of music in general.
